System for technical inspectors

Peugeot (Czech Republic) Česká Republika s.r.o., importer and distributor of passenger cars and light duty commercial vehicles, asked our team to create a software application that could make life easier for technical inspectors and controllers.

What where the client’s needs?

Authorized dealers represent an important part of Peugeot’s commercial network. In order to maintain and efficiently monitor the quality level of services discharged by individual licensees, i.e. dealers, the company’s inspectors carry out regular technical inspections. During on-site inspections it is necessary to monitor the amount of service events, the number of used spare parts, the number of service orders and other.

What did we offer to our client

We created a web application based on ASP.NET technology. This concept allows access to the system from any part of the world without the necessity for any additional installation on the client computer. The database server which is used for this purpose is Microsoft SQL Server 2005.

The application that we developed for Peugeot collects data from various systems and displays them in one place thus providing a single point of accountability for inspectors. During field visits, inspectors can display statistical data on-site, or they can prepare beforehand and export necessary data to Excel spreadsheets.

The functionality is divided into four sections:

  • displaying output tables;
  • data import into the database;
  • application setup;
  • printing and export of statistical reports.

Data contained in separate tables can be easily filtered on the basis of entered active criteria:

  • region (it is possible to select a specific region or include all regions)
  • PDV (list of dealers)
  • displayed period (current month, current quarter, first quarter, second quarter, current year, last year)

Conclusion

The application developed by our company helped our client’s inspectors achieve better economy of time in their work designated to the preparation of site visits and inspections; the newly installed application also ensured faster access to information thus increasing the quality of service provided at different service and sales points within Peugeot network.
